Authentic Palanca consists of prayers, accompanied by sacrifice. The following activities are recommended as authentic Palanca: Holy Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, Holy Communion, praying the Rosary, reading the Scriptures, Stations of the Cross, Liturgy of the Hours, Chaplet of Divine Mercy, visits to the Blessed Sacrament, fasting, alms-giving and any acts of self-denial offered with a prayer.
